The objective of this session is to explore what contributes to an effective risk communication strategy so participants can be more discerning when commissioning or planning their own strategies.
The session will touch on:
Funding – Where funding for disaster risk communication might originate (e.g. new vs. existing budgets that cover activities not typically considered ‘communication’) and ideas to access resources needed.
Communication strategies – Based on realistic budgets, participants will be challenged to explore key questions around what they’re trying to achieve, how they’ll go about it, how they’ll measure impact, and resources required.
Implementation – Participants will test their communication strategies against common challenges that emerge.
