Centre for Disaster Protection

Jonathon Gascoigne is lead risk finance adviser at the UK-government-aid-funded Centre for Disaster
Protection in London. This work focuses on delivering technical assistance for disaster risk financing
schemes for low income economies and leading on climate risk and resilience. Before this Jonathon
gained over 15 years’ experience in natural hazards risk assessment for the re/insurance industry,
designing and delivering risk transfer products. This work has included risk communication to a wide
range of audiences, as well as leading engagement with academic institutions and research councils.
