Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Specialist / World Bank (GFDRR)

Ms. Sakoda is a Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Specialist at the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR). She brings operational experience in post-disaster and post-conflict housing reconstruction, disaster preparedness, climate change adaptation, and urban development through a decade of field experience in Africa, South and East Asia, and the Pacific. At GFDRR, she leads two global programs: “Building Regulation for Resilience” which promote safer built environments through the enhancement of regulatory capacity; as well as “DRM for Health Systems” which aims to mainstream climate and disaster resilience for the health sector.
