Roberto Méndez is a Civil Engineer from the Federico Santa María Technical University – Chile and he has a Master’s Degree from the Catholic University of Leuven-Belgium. Roberto is a specialist in sustainable development with more than 30 years of professional experience particularly in Latin America and Caribbean in environment, integrated water and watershed management, water and sanitation, river engineering, disaster risk reduction and management, and climate change adaptation.
He has extensive experience in preparedness, recovery and disaster response. He is also a UNDAC member of the United Nations. Roberto has worked as responsible of programs and projects at the government level and as an adviser, consultant for bilateral and multilateral cooperation. He is also a university professor in water resources, river hydraulics and earth dam design in Cochabamaba Bolivia.
