Dr Thaisa Comelli is a researcher at UCL Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction, working at the Tomorrow’s Cities hub – whose mission is to reduce disaster risk for the poor in Global South cities. Previously she was based at the Bartlett Development Planning Unit (UCL), teaching at the MSc Urban Development Planning. Thaisa is a planner by training and worked in cities in Brazil, Mexico, Spain and Senegal before living in the UK. Beyond risk/resilience, her interests include co-production approaches to informal settlement upgrading, housing, and climate adaptation.
