Mr. Abdullahi Ali Watiin is the current Mayor of Baidoa, Somalia. He has 15 years’ experience in leadership, development planning, local government planning, and peace building and conflict resolution. In his capacity as the mayor of Baidoa. He has led comprehensive reforms in the Baidoa local government & council. As a high profile mayor, he was invited to attend regional and Global conferences to showcase his experience in dealing with Internally Displaced People in the city of Baidoa. Between 2020 and 2022, He was a chief of staff in the office of the State Presidency, South West Government. Before joining politics, he worked with the Somalia ministry of Finance, United Nation Mine Action Services (UNMAS). He has completed a university degree in Business Administration, and he is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Politics of conflict and violence from the University of Leicester.
