Project Manager Earth Observation
Alberto Lorenzo obtained his PhD in Geography in 2009 with a thesis devoted to Earth Observation and Digital Elevation Models applied to cartography. He is a geospatial information scientist with long experience in international and national research projects playing different technical and managerial roles at Indra, the Joint Research Centre and the European Environment Agency among others. As Disaster Resilience specialist he is leader of ESA’s project Global Development Assistance Disaster Resilience (GDA-DR) and has been of Earth Observation for Sustainable Development Disaster Risk Reduction (EO4SD-DRR) and project manager (former coordinator of activations and advisor) of the EC’s Copernicus Emergency Management Service Risk and Recovery Mapping, framework contracts (2012-2015, 2015-2018 and 2020-2023).
