Manager Climate and Conflict Team
With 20 years of experience in humanitarian action, I am a senior manager and a leader in advancing practice, research, and policy to support climate action. I currently head the Climate and Conflict portfolio at the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre, where I provide expert advice to partners on the integration of climate risk for their operations worldwide.
I am also a PhD researcher at the University of Twente, focusing on aspects of early warning and early action in situations of conflict. I am a contributing author to the IPCC's sixth assessment report, and I have been part of the strategic development of anticipatory action in the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the creation of the Anticipation Hub. My background is in industrial engineering, and I hold a master's degree in humanitarian action, specializing in conflict, disasters, and peacebuilding. I am passionate about innovation and driving transformational change for climate action and humanitarian response, and I have shared my knowledge and insights as a guest lecturer at University of Oxford, Rotherham University, Copenhagen University and University of Twente
