Advisor at the Global Shield Secretariat, a joint V20/G7 initiative to strengthen the financial protection and resilience of vulnerable countries and people. The Global Shield against Climate Risks aims to close protection gaps in climate-vulnerable countries, using a tool-box of pre-arranged finance. Following the principles of subsidiarity and ownership of partner countries, the Global Shield applies a needs-based approach and works together closely with local stakeholders to build on already existing financing structures and instruments.
Delia currently focuses on governance and the strategic development of the Global Shield and supports the initiative’s implementation work in partner countries. In her previous role, she advised the InsuResilience Global Partnership since its launch in 2017, developed pro-poor principles and further standards for the multi-stakeholder partnership. Prior to working with the InsuResilience Global Partnership and the Global Shield, Delia developed a strong expertise in sustainable finance, drawing from her experience working in a multinational bank for several years.
