Maliki has been working at BAPPENAS for more than 26 years. Since 2023, he has served as the
Deputy Minister for Population and Labor. His main responsibilities include designing policy plans
for population, labor, social protection programs, social empowerment, aging issues, and
inclusive development. Currently, he is in charge of the Social Protection Reform Road Map in
Indonesia. He is responsible for coordinating two primary reform strategies: the development of
an adaptive social protection scheme and the development of a socio-economic registry covering
all of the Indonesian population. These two strategies ensure a more comprehensive and
inclusive implementation of social protection in Indonesia.
