Helen Caughey

Helen is a Deputy Chief and International Meteorologist for the Met Office, the UK's national meteorological service, and is a Chartered Meteorologist and Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society. Having previously led on the implementation of Impact Based Forecasting pilot services across South Asia under the Asia Regional Resilience to a Changing Climate (ARRCC) programme, she is now expanding this experience across both Africa and Asia-Pacific Region under the weather and climate information services (WISER) programmes. She is focused on developing actionable early warning services using coproduction principles, bringing experience both from a UK context working in the Expert Weather Hub team responsible for the UK National Severe Weather Warning Service (NSWWS) and experience from previous pilot implementation globally. In addition to an operational background she has extensive experience building customer and stakeholder engagement, managing day to day service delivery of operational services, and is a qualified trainer, with over 15 years of experience in training and capacity development activities.
