Janise Rodgers

Janise Rodgers, PhD, PE specializes in developing solutions to the threats communities face from natural hazards. As Chief Operating Officer, she leads GeoHazards International’s programs and technical teams. Her experience includes assessing vulnerability, risk, and resilience challenges; seismic resilience of buildings and infrastructure; capacity building, technology transfer, and resilience research; and leading transdisciplinary processes to develop solutions. She has worked to improve disaster resilience in over 15 countries in Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Americas, and authored numerous technical publications and guidance documents for practitioners. She is a member of the Seismic Advisory Board of the Structural Extreme Events Reconnaissance Network and co-chairs the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute’s Learning from Earthquakes Public Health Subcommittee. She holds PhD and MS degrees from the University of California, Berkeley in Structural Engineering.
