Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist
Jian is an Architect and Urban Planner with experience in urban resilience. He is a Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist in the East Asia and Pacific region’s Urban, Disaster Risk Management, Resilience and Land Global Practice. He provides technical expertise on disaster risk management, urban design and planning, building design and regulation, and social inclusion. Since joining the World Bank in 2017, he has worked on projects related to urban resilience, disaster preparedness, disaster risk financing, and climate adaptation. He is also a Gender focal point in his work unit, helping task teams to reduce gender gaps in their projects. His country experience includes Indonesia, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, the Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, and Tonga.
