Mr. K M Abdul Wadud is an accomplished civil servant with a distinguished career marked by his pivotal role in disaster management and relief efforts. Since April 25, 2022, he has been serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, where his leadership has been instrumental in steering anticipatory action, shock responsive social security programs, coordinating disaster management activities, overseeing relief operations, and orchestrating humanitarian assistance initiatives. Notably, Mr. Wadud chairs the Anticipatory Action Task Force Working Group, a testament to his expertise and commitment in proactively enhancing country’s disaster management framework. He has led the development of Early Action Protocols for Flood and Cyclone. Mr. Wadud is also leading advocacy actions for shock proofing GoB’s social protection schemes.Prior to his current role, Mr. Wadud held significant positions within various governmental departments, including the Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Labour and Employment, and Information and Communication Technology Division. His diverse experience underscores his versatility and adaptability in navigating complex administrative landscapes. Mr. Wadud's expertise extends beyond administrative roles, having served as Senior Assistant Secretary and Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Agriculture respectively. His academic pursuits further complement his professional achievements, holding a Master of Public Affairs degree from the University of Dhaka.
