Technical manager for anticipatory action

Karen’s expertise and areas of interest lie at the thematic interface of disaster risk reduction and humanitarian action, specifically anticipatory action. Since 2020 she supports Red Cross Red Crescent National Societies in the development and implementation of anticipatory action plans with a focus on Africa, in particular Somalia, Madagascar and Mozambique. Moreover, she works on further developing the methodology of anticipatory action, e.g. how innovation and new approaches can be introduced into anticipatory humanitarian action.
