Mr. Koji Nishida is a Senior Energy Specialist with the World Bank working on various investment lending and technical assistance projects in electricity sectors in Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Turkiye among others. Particularly he is currently leading an emergency project to support Ukraine's restoration of transmission facilities damaged by the war. Technical topics Mr. Nishida covers include: power system planning; transmission design; renewable energy grid integration; regional electricity market integration; and Smart Grid technologies. Prior to joining the Bank in 2014, Mr. Nishida had worked for 13 years with the Japanese second largest vertically integrated power utility, Kansai Electric Power, as a power engineer. Mr. Nishida holds Master of Engineering from Kyoto University, Japan, and Master of Business Administration from University of North Carolina, U.S.A.
