Dr. Maksym Gusyev is a Ukrainian scientist with broad academic training in Ukraine and the USA and 15+ years of hands-on and research experience in many regions across the globe. Maksym Gusyev has Bachelor Degree and Engineering Diploma from National Technical University of Ukraine and obtained his Master of Science and Ph.D. at Indiana University, Bloomington, USA. From 2010, Dr. Gusyev worked on many water-related projects across New Zealand at the Crown Research Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences (GNS Science) and across Asia-Pacific and Africa regions at the International Centre of Water Hazard and Risk Management (ICHARM) under the auspices of UNESCO, Tsukuba, Japan. In April 2022, he became the Project Associate Professor at Institute of Environmental Radioactivity (IER), Fukushima University and implementing the WBG project on risk assessment of dam break flooding in Nigeria in 2023.
