Malie Tarbwillin is the Assistant Secretary, for the Division of International Development Assistance (DIDA), Ministry of Finance, Republic of the Marshall Islands. She graduated from the Grand Canyon University in Arizona majoring in Entrepreneurship and minoring in Finance and Economics. Malie has served as a public servant for eight (8) years when she started her career with the Ministry as an Aid Coordinator back in 2016.
After two years of working as an Aid Coordinator, she was later given the opportunity to become the Assistant Secretary of DIDA to manage the multi-lateral financing received by the Government of the Republic of the Marshall Islands (GoRMI). Her role includes the oversight and monitoring of multiple large scale development projects working with partners such as the World Bank, European Union, Asian Development Bank and others.
On a day-to-day basis she works with Project Managers, Financial Managers/Officers, and other project staff to review project implementation challenges and solutions on ways forward.
Outside of work she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and playing outdoor sports.
