Director of the Geoinformatics Center

Dr. Manzul Kumar Hazarika is currently the Director of the Geoinformatics Center at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan, an M. Eng. degree in Remote Sensing and GIS from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, and an M. Tech. Degree in Soil and Water Conservation Engineering from IIT-Kharagpur, India.

Over the past 20 years, Dr. Hazarika has been extensively working on applications of geospatial technologies in agriculture, disaster management, and the environment. He worked in more than 20 countries in the Asia-Pacific and the Caribbean regions to support the government in planning and decision-making by integrating geospatial technologies with conventional data, methods, and tools.
