Disaster Reduction Management Specialist
Moussa Sidibe is a Disaster Risk Management Specialist at GFDRR. With an academic background in hydrology and water resources management, Moussa completed his PhD in hydrology and climate change at Coventry University, UK. Since joining the World Bank/GFDRR in 2021 through the Young Professionals Program, he has worked on global analytics under the Hydromet/EWS Thematic Area and contributed to both lending and non-lending operations as a team member. He has a particular interest in developing adaptation strategies based on the understanding of the potential impacts of climate variability and change on hydrological systems at different spatial and temporal scales. Prior to joining the World Bank Group, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the West African Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL), mainly investigating climate change impacts on water resources, and adaptation strategies across West Africa.
