Naohisa Koide is the Head of the Office of International Affairs of the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), where he leads multilateral and bilateral international cooperation activities. He also serves as an adviser to the Permanent Representative of Japan with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and represents JMA and the Japanese Government at numerous WMO meetings. Naohisa joined JMA in 2004 and has held several positions in various fields, including tropical cyclones and tsunami warning services. Additionally, he worked as a senior Disaster Risk Management (DRM) specialist at the GFDRR from 2018 to 2021. He holds Master's degrees in Statistics and Climate Science from Columbia University, New York.
