Senior Disaster Risk Management Consultant Nicolas is a Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist at the World Bank, with twenty years of international experience. Previously, he was the lead catastrophe risk specialist at the Bank of England, and worked also for the (re)insurance broker Willis Re. As a scientist, Nicolas assessed earthquake risk in New Zealand, following the 2010-2011 Christchurch seismic sequence. He contributed also to the largest international program on seismic hazard in the region of Istanbul (Turkey). Nico's ambition is to bridge the gap between science and risk management. In 2006, he received his PhD in Geophysics from the Paris Earth Sciences Institute (IPGP, France).
