Nobuyuki Asai serves as director for sustainable development and humanitarian affairs in Soka Gakkai International.He joined Soka Gakkai’s recovery taskforce after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 and after the Kumamoto Earthquake in 2016.He has participated in several UN conferences including the UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction held in Sendai in 2015. He serves as a Leaders Council member of Joint Learning Initiative on Faith and Local Communities and is a focal of the Japan CSO Coalition for Disaster Risk Reduction (JCC-DRR). He studied law in Tokyo University and was awarded Bachelor of Law in 1999.
