Nyree is Global Partnerships Manager for the Met Office, the UK’s national meteorological service. Nyree has 20 years plus experience gained from working with a variety of stakeholders from media to international development in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the USA. Nyree is responsible for coordinating Met Office engagement with global partners who fund and implement early warning early action programmes and use climate projections to inform climate risk and adaptation planning. This works adds value to the UK Government WISER programme strengthening weather and climate information services in Africa, Asia Pacific, and the MENA region. Nyree partners with WMO, IFRC /RCCC and the World Food Programme to advocate the use of impact-based forecasting services to inform Forecast based Financing Early Action Plans and triggers. Nyree is a member of the WMO Expert Team for Early Warning Services, established in 2023, and supports coordination of WMO member activities related to the UNSG’s Early Warning for All initiative 2024-2027
