Paolo Campanella serves as Managing Director and CTO of WASDI Sarl, bringing with him over 20 years of professional experience as an ICT and Automation engineer. His expertise lies in designing and implementing ICT systems, specifically focused on environmental monitoring, operational hydro-meteorological forecasts, Earth Observation, and disaster risk management decision support systems. Paolo has actively collaborated with both national and international institutions and has extensive experience in defining user requirements of International Institutions and Research Centers. He also acted as a lecturer for several training programs for software design, development and maintenance with special application to Early Warning Systems and disaster risk management decision support systems.Paolo effectively leads a skilled ICT team, well-versed in database management. Additionally, he holds the position of Senior Software Engineer for CIMA's primary IT tools developed for the Italian Civil Protection Department: the DEWETRA system for real-time monitoring and forecasting of weather-related extremes and the FloodCat web application for recording historical flood data. Paolo has successfully overseen the implementation of more than 20 projects involving ICT systems for Earth Observation, environmental modeling, Early Warning Systems, and hydro-meteorological forecasting.
