Ririn Salwa Purnamasari is a Senior Economist with the World Bank's East Asia and Pacific Poverty and Equity Global Practice. She is leading/co-leading the Poverty and Equity work program in Indonesia and Malaysia. Her main work focuses on poverty, inequality, employment, and gender issues. Prior to joining the World Bank, she was a research partner of the Center for International Forestry Research. She also worked at Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations in Rome, and the Indonesia Statistical Office in Jakarta. An Indonesian national, Ririn holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
