Sanjeewa Illangasingha, a Chartered Civil Engineer from Sri Lanka, serves as the Deputy Director for Water Resources Planning at the Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka, a multidisciplinary governmental organization. With 15 years of experience, he specializes in water resources development projects, climate resilience improvement, and earth dam safety enhancement initiatives, within Sri Lanka, many of which have been funded by the World Bank. He holds postgraduate qualifications in Hydraulic Engineering and River Basin Development from IHE-Delft, Netherlands, and Water and Environmental Engineering from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Currently, He is completing the final year of his Ph.D. studies at ICHARM/GRIPS in Japan.
