Dr. Anh Cao is the Regional Director (Southeast Asia) of the Practitioner Exchange for Effective Response to Sea Level Rise, a global community of practice that addresses sea level rise and coastal hazards. She has been working on adaptation trends in practices in Asian deltaic coastal cities, aiming to identify adaptation measures that are implemented to cope with flooding induced by sea level rise. She has conducted fieldwork in Tokyo and Ho Chi Minh City, interviews with city governments and household surveys. Her work also explores risk perception, policy perception, and the social conflicts between stakeholders and limits to adaptation in these cities. Currently, Dr. Anh Cao is working as a project researcher at the Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo, focusing on the advanced practice of watershed flood management using surface hydrological prediction systems.
