Yoko Okura is a Disaster Risk Management Specialist based in Islamabad, Pakistan. She focuses on disaster and climate resilience operations in Pakistan and Bangladesh, including Pakistan's flood recovery work in Sindh province and the Rohingya crisis. She leads project components on emergency management, community-based disaster risk management, and livelihood recovery. Prior to joining the World Bank, Yoko worked with organizations such as Mercy Corps, MIT Urban Risk Lab, and UNICEF based in Indonesia, Myanmar, and Nepal. Yoko holds a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, where she studied as a Fulbright scholar.
