Breaking Barriers in Risk Communication
Risk communication involves the multidirectional exchange of information among experts, policymakers, disaster risk managers, private sector stakeholders, civil society leaders, and diverse publics. The challenges lie in how risk information is effectively communicated among these stakeholders to enable informed decision-making, overcoming multiple barriers. In this session, we will present examples of effective risk communication that benefits from collaboration between stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Participants will also engage in practical activities and learn to address the most frequent barriers risk communication.
