This Focus Day Event aims to tackle challenges in disaster risk management, climate adaptation, and investment by bridging gaps in climate analytics and enhancing analytic tools. It gathers experts from various fields for interdisciplinary collaboration, sharing the latest methodologies and initiatives in climate analytics and resilience building. The event promotes shared learning and offers a platform to identify needs, spotlight ongoing efforts, and explore future climate action strategies. Expected outcomes include innovative climate analytics tools, research and investment opportunities, enhanced networking, and a greater understanding of climate analytics in investment decisions. Expected Outputs: The Focus Day Event will showcase the latest methodologies and initiatives designed to promote disaster risk management, adaptation and resilience building against climate and weather extreme threats. The event will articulate specific needs in capacity-building and analytic tools, offering a platform to spotlight ongoing efforts, existing gaps and future avenues to more achievable climate action and finance. Highlighting the importance of synergies and the collaborative nature of this event, the following outputs are being expected: (1) Insights into the role that climate analytics can play in financing and achieving climate resilience, (2) Showcasing innovations in risk assessments and modelling from diverse sectors, (3) Enhanced collaboration and networking among participants, leading to potential partnerships for advancing analytics in adaptation, DRM and investment, (4) Greater understanding among finance professionals of the benefits and practical applications of climate analytics in private and public investment decisions, and finally (5) Increased commitment to integrating cross-cutting issues in climate analytics initiatives, contributing to a more inclusive and impactful approach to climate action.
