Disaster’s Toll in Conflict and Fragile Contexts: Unveiling Economic Impacts

Despite the prevalence of disasters in conflict-affected states, enacting climate and disaster resilience activities in such settings is highly challenging. This session provides groundbreaking insights from a set of analyses that uncover the economic impacts of disasters and on-the-ground challenges faced by decision-makers in conflict-affected states. A better understanding of such impacts can help in mainstreaming and targeting investments in conflict-affected and fragile states (FCS) to strengthen communities’ climate and disaster resilience.
