Sharing Experiences of Building Seismic Resilience: Indonesia, Japan, and the Philippines
This session discusses challenges and strategies of building seismic resilience in developing countries, highlighting the experiences from Indonesia and the Philippines, and sharing good practices from Japan. The session will bring together a diverse group of panelists, including government officials and practitioners from the three countries. Key topics include findings from Indonesia’s study, lessons from the Philippines’ initiatives, and Japan’s experience in ensuring building safety. The discussions will center on the role of policies and regulations in promoting seismic resilience, such as policy reforms, incentives, investment prioritizations, and nationwide risk assessment.
