Study Tour to Emergency Operations Center Design and Management Workshop
Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs) are a crucial part of a robust Emergency Preparedness and Response (EP&R) system, and a central coordination point responsible for carrying out and coordinating emergency management functions during a crisis. This Focus Day event will take a group of UR24 attendees to the Himeji City municipal Emergency Operations Center (EOC). This visit will showcase the latest technology and training that a Japanese EOC has at their disposal. In addition, the Focus Day will include a half day training for participants on designing an EOC organized by the GFDRR EP&R Global Program team, highlighting for instance how risk information is used for preparation and response in an emergency. The session will include presentations from the US Fire Administration to highlight their experience of running EOCs in emergency situations. Please be aware that this session has a maximum attendance of 60 people. Please register here for Tour Nr.6 on a first come first served basis: Tour Information
